Pegi Smith – Pegi Smith Art – prints donated

Welcome to the Dream World of Pegi Smith

Painter ~ Musician ~ Dreamer

Pegi Smith (Peggy Smith) paints in acrylics on canvas from her home studio in the mountains near Ashland, Oregon. It’s not often that one finds an artist who paints from her dreams, yet Pegi’s visionary style distinguishes her paintings from all others, immersing the viewer in her personal—and very compelling— dream world. From these dreams, Pegi paints abstracts from equine art to nudes to nature, using rich colors to evoke emotion and to uplift the viewer.

Thank you for visiting Pegi Smith’s artist website!Pegi is a self-taught artist, therefore she uses her paints in an innovative manner exclusive to herself. Her use of color, which changes with each collection, makes her work perfect for nearly any interior decor scheme.

Pegi’s thoughtful approach to her art and unique nuance with her brush have gained her a devoted following, with collectors vying for new paintings as they are unveiled. Pegi’s paintings are in private collections in Switzerland, Australia and throughout the US, and were featured in the 2009 edition of “International Contemporary Masters.” She exhibits her works in the U.S. and internationally. Original paintings and limited edition giclee prints are available for sale.

Marcella Rose – MarcellaSilks –  scarf donation    https://www.facbook.com/marcellasilks/

The true joy in experimenting is not the success of said experiment, but the pathways of new expression that open up and the old axiom of one thing leading to another takes on new meaning…. That being said, when “what if I try…” turns into something unexpected and beautiful – YES! I began teaching myself how to work with this medium 20 years ago and it is still utterly beguiling to me. As I began exploring silk painting, I realized that the traditional Serti technique just didn’t work for me, so I began developing my own method of painting that has evolved over the years. I paint with Sennelier Tinfix dyes from France, they’re expensive, but the depth, brilliance and subtlety of the colors are (in my opinion) unrivaled. I work out of my little studio in Southern Oregon creating each piece with love.

Deb Van Poolen – www.debvanpoolen.com

  • Debra Van Poolen has been a plein air watercolor artist for 22 years, exhibiting her work in Washington D.C., Oregon, Montana and Michigan. In recent years Van Poolen’s artistic projects have focused on social, environmental, and foreign policy matters which the US mainstream media neglects or misrepresents. In January 2015, Debra exhibited her watercolors from Palestine’s occupied West Bank in Washington, DC at The Jerusalem Fund’s Al Quds gallery in a one month show titled “Natural History of Palestine”. (Natural History Watercolors by Debra Van Poolen and Natural History Under Siege) In 2013, Van Poolen made courtroom sketches each day of Chelsea Manning’s summer-long court martial in Ft. Meade, Maryland. Debra’s court drawings were utilized by several media outlets, including the The Guardian, Russia Today (rt.com), Long Island Press, Chelsea Manning Support Network (chelseamanning.org), and Popular Resistance (popularesistence.org). In 2014 Debra’s Artprize entry of six drawings from the Chelsea Manning trial was chosen for the Juror’s Shortlist of the top five entries from a field of 900 two-dimensional entries in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From The Core“, the debut solo album from Jeff Pevar, recorded in the Oregon Caves National Monument, is now available here via Pet Peev Music!

The music on this album began as 12 improvisations recorded on acoustic guitar and mandocello for the PBS documentary “The Marble Halls Of Oregon”. After the National Park Service heard this music, they asked if Jeff would consider releasing it as an album of it’s own. Jeff then decided to take artistic license and bring the tracks recorded in the caves back to his home studio and overdub various instruments.

As the project evolved, he invited some very special guests to add their unique flavor to select pieces, including Jon Anderson, the voice of YES, who co-wrote lyrics and sings on the single, “River Of Dreams”.

Jeff had no idea when he was creating this music, what he would play or where the songs would end up harmonically, never mind it end up becoming his debut solo album, but it all comes “From The Core”!

Ben Rice  https://www.benricelive.com/

His music is deeply rooted in traditional blues, yet at the same time fiercely original. His guitar playing earns labels like “fearless,” “inventive” and “powerful,” and he routinely brings audiences to their feet with his stunning and emotionally honest vocal delivery. Ben is as much home fronting his electric blues band as he is captivating a crowd solo with nothing but his voice and his resonator guitar.

HORNBROOK BENEFIT CONCERT The Green Springs Inn and Cabins Ashland, Oregon.

Dean Angermeier and I are The Funking Monkeys and we’re playing a Benefit Concert with special guests for The Hornbrook Horses who got caught in the Klamathon Fire. The event will take place at the Greensprings Inn and Cabins on Dec 13th from 6 pm to whenever the event stops – more details below.

Come join our support of the Equine Klamathon Fire victims! It’s not only horses that were scathed by this incineration, but cows, goats, sheep, alpaca’s and all the other animals that survive on pasture grazing, have been completely burned out with little to no resources for survival. They are desperate and need our support, please share your spirit, time, money, love and compassion in a fun night full of music, art and good cheer. Let’s turn to art and loving people to bring BIG support to those who’ve fallen victims to a terribly tragic situation.

Our neighbors across the state line lost homes and pastures in the Klamathon Fire that started on July 5 and burned for two weeks. Fenceposts were consumed and livestock dispersed. Almost 60 miles of fencing are down along with miles of pastures burned leaving nothing for horse, cattle, sheep, goats, or alpacas to eat unless they are fed. With all the wires down it makes it very dangerous for animals to get tangled up in it, and they are!  Now folks are corralling animals but they are short of feed.

38000 acres burned sadly a man lost his life…. Hay barns full of hay just brought in were destroyed ranchers equipment, vehicles and most structures that protected animals from the elements were destroyed… the day this fire was put out the Carr Fire in Redding Ca,  started and all resources were pulled from Hornbrook, Ca and taken to the fire in Redding… this left this community without drinking water not only for themselves but all their animals…..in 95 degree heat…. they were completely abandoned as truck loads of water drove right past them to go to the other fire.”

It’s been a rough go for these victims, we just want to see them all get what they need.

“People have been left to feed animals or put fencing up. They cant afford to do both.” These are desperate measures and they need our help!

WE ARE ACCEPTING DONATIONS NOW!

Hay can be donated as well as building and fencing materials and money.  Anything is appreciated. Please help us raise money the means to help stabilize their livestock community.

We are  asking for art donations of any kind for an auction on the night of the event, in the Forrest Room. It could be anything from a sketch to a sculpture, photograph, necklace, leatherwork, you name it, anything that might raise money to feed these hungry and traumatized animals.

Maybe you have an piece of art that you would like to donate?  If you know anyone else who would be happy to donate a piece of art, it would be such a sweet gesture for an incredible need!

Let us know if you’re interested in participating in ANY way – wether it be donations, your presence at the show or ongoing help after Dec 13, we will be keeping the fundraising moving forward, this is not going to stabilize over night. If you’re interested in  helping physically on site, contact Jana Toney info below.

We’re asking all who plan to be present on Dec 13th, to RSVP on the Event Page created by Diarmuid at The Green Springs Inn and Cabins. We really need to have as accurate as a count as possible in order for a successful event!

Thank you in advance!

We’re thrilled with the donations already given and cannot thank you all enough!

Gratitude and Blessings!
